Most people don't need to worry about accidents, but for those of us who ride, the chances of being injured in an accident dramatically increases.
Everyone has seen the
AFLAC duck on tv, but do you know what AFLAC is? It is supplemental insurance that is paid directly to you - not doctors or hospitals. You can spend it any way you want - pay bills, buy
groceries.
One of the many plans AFLAC provides is a Personal Accident Expense Plan. Lance and I have purchased this plan for our whole family through the cafeteria plan at his company for only
$16.10 a pay period, but it can also be bought individually. Below is a brief list of the benefits and cost of the policy. It is less expensive when purchased through a company's cafeteria plan. The
company pays nothing. Each employee pays for the policy, pre-tax, so both the company and you benefit. AFLAC can also set up a company's cafeteria plan, if there isn't one in place, at no cost to the
company. It's a win-win situation.
Lance and I have also taken advantage of AFLAC's Personal Recovery Plus policy, which covers heart attack, stroke, and heart disease. It covers Lance and
only costs $4.45 a pay period.

PERSONAL ACCIDENT EXPENSE PLAN
Benefits Include (This is a VERY brief list):
$1,000 if a covered person requires hospital confinement for injuries sustained in a covered accident. $25-$10,000 for Fractures,
dislocations, eye injuries, broken teeth, comas, exploratory surgeries, and many more. $25,000 for accidental death to insured, $10,000 for spouse, and $5,000 for child, as long as the accident is not classified
as common-carrier (taxi), and are not specifically excluded in the limitations and exclusions of the policy. Physical Therapy, Ambulance, Lodging (if away for home), and Wellness Benefit
