SAT:  At 7:00 am, we're having our final breakfast together at Waffle House with Bob and Dawn.  It's cold (60o) and we're layered with clothes.  Beautiful blue skies. Bob's scoot won't start.  We found a motorcycle shop about a mile down the road so he jumped on the back of Lance's bike and they went to buy a new battery.  Once in, the bike started right up and we separated to continue our journey at 10:00 am. We had a fabulous week.  What a super way to celebrate our first anniversary!  Best wishes, love and hugs to Bob and Dawn until we meet again.
Lance and Sandra had lunch at Wendy's in Lawrenceburg.  Then we got on The Natchez Trace and rode to Tupelo, Mississippi.  We met Boni at the Visitor's Center and went to Applebee's to visit.  We got back on the Trace, gassed up again in Kosciusko, Oprah Winfrey's hometown.  Got back on the Trace for another hour ride to Jackson. It was getting dark and a bit scary for Sandra, who was afraid of deer in the road.  We saw lots of deer, one wolf, 2 wild turkeys.  It was beautiful!  Both Blue Ridge Parkway and The Trace have great smooth clean roads. Blue Ridgee Parkway is curvier and through mountains.  The Trace is flatter, but pretty as well.  As we moved closer to Jackson, we rounded a curve and were surprised to see the sun was setting on Ross Barnett Reservoir, a huge body of water.  No place to stop for photos though.  We had to get on the freeway to go around Jackson to pick up The Trace again.  We stayed at Comfort Inn and will pick up The Trace again tomorrow.  We bought sandwiches at Arby's and had dinner in the room.

SUN: It was supposed to be cold so we put on long underwear and layered.  We left Jacksonville about 9:00 am.  We crossed the Mississippi bridge into Vidalia, Louisiana and ate fish at The Sandbar restaurant for lunch.  Very good.  By 2:00 pm, we stopped in Leesville, Louisiana to take off our thermals and cool down.  It got VERY warm.  We decided to come on into Houston since we were making such good time.  We ate dinner at a Mexican restaurant  in Cleveland and were home by 8:30 pm.  Tomorrow is our first anniversary and we have the day off.

MON:  We have the day off, but Sandra is up at 6:00 am.  I started washing clothes and was almost through by noon.  Lance got up about 8:30 am, but lazed around until 12:30. He was exhausted from all the riding. He rode 1,000 miles to St. Louis, and together, we rode 3,000 miles back to Houston.  We got my car from downtown, then took his bike in for maintenance.  We bought groceries and I made pecan sesame crusted chicken, which we had eaten at Food and Friends in Lewisburg, Virginia.  It was wonderful to rest and take it easy together.  Our first anniversary Harley bike ride was truly memorable.  We plan to repeat it every year and, hopefully, our very special friends, Bob and Dawn Sedlack, will be able to join us in both of our anniversary celebrations.
