HOG-ALBUM

After our March chapter meeting, Ladies of Harley led 82 scoots from downtown Stelter's out to Hockley to visit SIRE (Self-Improvement thru Riding Education).  The missed turn and subsequent u-turn allowed us to see just how long of a line 82 bikes can create.  Unfortunately, riding does not always provide the best time to take pictures.  SIRE gave us demonstrations on how horseback riding is therapeutic to children and adults with disabilities.  Horses and Harleys team together on Saturday, April 1, for the annual Barbeque, Dance and Auction that raises money to support the SIRE programs.

Blessing Ride 2000

Led by Killerdude in his car, as it started out that morning with heavy rain showers in parts of Houston. Still, even with the inclimate weather there where 32 scoots showing up for this ride out to the historic Blessing Hotel for a fabulous lunch buffet, just like grandma used to cook. After chowing down on ham, turkey, fried chicken, black-eyed peas, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes and a whole lot more delicious home-style food, everyone headed down to the water in Palacious for some refreshments. After enjoying the sights out on the water, we all headed different directions back to Houston.

Killerdude!

What a party the rodeo barbeque cookoff was!
Beer and margaritas flowed freely and the aroma of smoked brisket let you know the food was never ending.  Members of our chapter were treated to passes to the tent of Kowboy Kookers, thanks to Denise and Tommy Lesch.  Brenda and Danny Blair provided passes to Eagle Freight's party.  Lisa Burgay rounded up the LOH gals and headed to the tent of Emergency 9, where one guy got down on his knees to beg for a ride on the back of one of the scoots. Maybe next year Houston Area #1 will have our own tent.  Any volunteers?
