WELL if you did not go this year because of what the weather was looking like it MIGHT do…you missed out as we had sunshine and clear skies!!! What a great way to spend our Thanksgiving weekend with our extended family!  We had 6 bikes depart that cool and dry Thursday morning from the IHOP at 290 and Hwy 6 around 9am.  We proceeded out 529 through Bellville and on out 159 to LaGrange then over to San Marcos for Turkey Lunch at Furrs Cafeteria. We filled up and gassed up, then headed out the Devils Backbone to 473, and on into Kerrville for the night. We cleaned up and headed to the bar for some food and drinks and yes a little dancing. The band that played the whole weekend was absolutely awesome!!

Friday we took the backcountry roads to Llano. We had lunch at the world famous Coopers BBQ, where we met up with the 6 bikes that came up today. We took Willow City Loop around and then headed south to Luckenbach for some good ole live picking and grinning in the backyard.  We left Luchenbach and rode back to Kerrville on old Grapetown Rd. to Old San Antonio Rd (Old Tunnel Hwy).  After wiping off the road grime, we hitched a ride in the hotel van to the Cowboy Steak House for some true Texas Beef; here we met up with even more folks from Republic Chapter!! After a good steak, we all headed to the Hotel Bar for more live music!

On Saturday we started out west through Hunt, of course stopping at the General Store for some jerky, then on out to 187 where yours truly had a rear flat tire about 10 miles out of Hunt! With the help of all my good friends and riding buddies, Pinkie and I were able to make it back into Ingram to American Cycle Service. Problem was, they were closed, so we started making phone calls. Found DESTINATION CYCLESPORTS in Kerrville (Yamaha / Suzuki dealer and shop) and gave them a call.  He stated he could do it but did not have the correct tube. Through the help of locals, we were able to meet up with the owner of American Cycle Service who came up and sold me a tube.  He had no mechanic around to do the repair, but was able to get me the tube. I then called back Destination Cycles only to be told by the Service Manager that he needed to leave for the day and was very sorry to leave me stranded…….THIS WAS BULL-S--T, how can you leave anybody stranded like that?? Well once again through the help of locals, we found a tire shop, A and A Tires in Kerrville, that was more than happy to do the work, but we had to remove the wheel from the bike. They let us use their jack and tools and away we mechanics went!! I would like to thank all of you that helped out and we owe ya one! During this, the group kind of split up, some went to visit family, and Buddy, still suffering from last night,  went back to bed. After the tire was fixed, we still headed back out 187 then up to 41 and down 336 to see the Giraffes, Ostriches, Deer, Kangaroos, Camels and of course, cows and goats. From 336, we pointed the scoots east and down and over the legendary 337 to 16, where we caught it north into Kerrville through the steep grade switchbacks that are SOOOO FUN at dusk!!!  Those that were able, returned to the Bar again for some more great live music and dancing.  Poor Buddy couldn't make it.

Sunday, some rode straight back, one headed back with his bike in the truck….tooo much fun…..and a few of us headed out to the Gristmill in Gruene for lunch, taking all back roads and even seeing one old Navy Jet parked in a cow pasture!  After lunch, we dropped onto I-10 and shot home!

Looking forward to next year!!
